Counting of votes for the Lok Sabha polls is underway and as per trends, TRS leader and Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao's daughter Kalvakuntla Kavitha is trailing from Nizamabad seat. BJP candidate Dharmapuri Arvind leading by over 31,000 votes.
Nizamabad went to polls on April 11 and registered 68.33 per cent polling.
In 2014, K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter, Kavitha beat the incumbent Madhu Yaskhi Goud of Congress by receiving 42.50 per cent of the vote share.
Kavitha became the first woman parliamentarian from Telangana.
Before the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Nizamabad had witnessed a tough battle between Congress and TDP. In 2009, TRS' Bigala Ganesh Gupta gave a tough fight to Madhu Yaskhi Goud with 26.54 per cent vote share.
