Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has said that he remains committed to his promise of making River Ganga pollution free by the end of next year. Gadkari said the government has initiated several projects to cut the flow of polluted water into Ganga. The efforts would start showing results by next year, Gadkari said.
Responding to a question about Delhi's air pollution issue, Gadkari revealed how he plans to cut air pollution in the national capital by at least 50 per cent.
Answering a volley of questions from India TV Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Rajat Sharma in his show “Aap Ki Adalat”, Gadkari attacked Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his charge that the Modi government has waived off loans to big industrialists worth crores. Gadkari asked Rahul Gandhi to name the finance minister under whose tenure loans were disbursed. He (Rahul Gandhi) is causing harm to his own party by levelling allegations against Narendra Modi government over loan waiver of industrialists, Gadkari said.
Responding to a question on allegations that the Modi government didn’t waive loans of farmers though it waived loans worth Rs 2.5 lakh crore of industrialists, Gadkari said,” Rahul Gandhi should reveal who was the finance minister when these loans were given. Were these loans given by our government?”
