New video on Bulandshahr violence
A new video has surfaced that shows how Bulandshahr was put on fire by a violent mob that went berserk over alleged slaughtering of cows.
In the video, somebody is heard shouting “goli maar di” (shot him). Some others are heard shouting “maar do” (kill him).
This is also the last video of Sumit, the civilian who was killed in the cross fire. He is seen being taken away by the mob after he was shot at.
Police suspect the death of Sumit triggered the backlash that led to the murder of police officer Subodh Kumar Singh.
What led to the Bulandshahr mob violence?
Thousands of people assembled after they reportedly heard about the killing of 30-32 cows in the area.
The angry mob reached the police station demanding action against cow smugglers.
The police tried to reason with the mob. However, things turned violent with mob resorting to stone pelting and police retaliating by opening fire.
