In yet another disgraceful incident of sexual assault, two minor identical twin sisters were raped for over the past one year by their neighbour and his minor son with support from a family member of the girls, in Mailardevpally area here.

One Jaffar and his 16-year-old son, who are neighbours of the minor girls, allegedly raped them repeatedly over the past one year. The father-son duo was helped by a family member of the twin sisters in committing the crime.

Unable to bear the torture, one of the twin sisters, a student of Class IV, shared her ordeal wih a local teacher, who in turn alerted an NGO working for child rights. The NGO then lodged a police complaint against the accused father and his minor son.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections of IPC and Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, police said.

The police officer said they are investigating the matter, but no arrest has been made till now.

“It is a case of rape and both the sisters were victimised and accordingly a case has been registered under 376 (Rape), 370 (trafficking of persons) of IPC and Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act,” DCP Padmaja was quoted by Times of India as saying.

While Jaffar and the family member of the victim sisters who helped the accused have been taken into custody, his 16-year-old, a partner in crime, has been shifted to a children’s home and will be produced before a juvenile court.

According to the NGO, the victims originally hail from Nepal and had settled in Hyderabad where her father is working as a clerk in a private company.
