Days after describing India cricket captain Virat Kohli as the 'worst behaved player in the world', veteran Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah on Thursday expressed worry over the prevailing situation in the country. Shah, in a video message, said he is afraid of what is happening in India.
Referring to the Bulandshahr violence, in which a police inspector and a man were killed by a frenzied mob earlier this month, the actor remarked that a 'cow's life seems to be more important that a cop's life'.
Here's what all Naseeruddin Shah said:
# It seems people are free to take law into their hands. There is no fear of law left. A strange vitiated atmosphere is prevailing in the country at present.
# Suddenly, a cow's life has become more important than a cop's life.
# I am worried about my children, their future. Tomorrow, what if a mob surrounds them and asks them about their religion...whether they are Hindu or Muslim.
# I feel angry when I think about such a situation and every 'right thinking' person should be angry. But don't be afraid by such scenario.
# This is country is our home and no body can ask us to leave.
