Nala Sopara terror conspiracy case: Court sends 4 accused to police custody till Sept 25

Sujit Kumar told the court that police had beaten him up in the custody, following which the court had ordered a medical examination, but nothing was found in the report.

On August 10, Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad had recovered chemicals, weighing about 24 kgs, from the residence of cow vigilante and Sanatan Sanstha follower Vaibhav Raut’s Nala Sopara residence.

A local court on Monday sent four Nala Sopara terror conspiracy accused to police custory till September 25. Liladhar alias Vijay alias Bhaiyya Lodhi, Vasudev Suryawansh, Bharat Kurne and Sujit Kumar have been sent to custoy, even as the latter claimed that he was tortured by the police. 

Sujit Kumar told the court that police had beaten him up in the custody, following which the court had ordered a medical examination, but nothing was found in the report. 

On August 10, Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad had recovered chemicals, weighing about 24 kgs, from the residence of cow vigilante and Sanatan Sanstha follower Vaibhav Raut’s Nala Sopara residence. They had also recovered 22 crude bombs, weighing 500-600 gms each.

Raut and Sudhanva Gondhalekar told the anti-terror police that they aborted their plan to bomb Sunburn Festival in Pune last year owing to the extensive CCTV surveillance there, reports said. The duo reportedly feared that if they got caught, they wouldn’t be able to complete their task of eliminating 14 people on their hit list.
