Refuting reports of him planning to take over as the head of the Dera Sacha Sauda, Jasmeet Insan, son of jailed sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh today made it clear that his father will continue as the Dera chief.

In a press note, Jasmeet said that his father Ram Rahim is the spearhead of the Dera Sacha Sauda and will continue to lead the sect.

He also said that the sect will soon approach the Supreme Court, challenging the CBI court’s decision which held the self-styled godman guilty in two rape cases, sentencing him to 20 years imprisonment.

“My father is an honest and innocent man, and I am confident that we will get justice from the Supreme Court, and very soon, Guruji (Ram Rahim) will again be present between us and will carry forward his works for the wellbeing of mankind,” said Jasmeet in the press note.

Jasmeet also slammed the media, alleging that it has been spreading false news about the Dera and his father Ram Rahim.

“I am hurt by the dishonest news and false rumours being aired about Guruji. I request people doing so to work in the direction of wellbeing of the mankind,” said Jasmeet.

Two women followers raped by the Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court, seeking life imprisonment for the sect head, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Ram Rahim was convicted by the special CBI court on August 25, following which violence and arson had erupted in Panchkula and Sirsa districts which left 41 people dead and scores injured.
