Ratlam (MP): A tehsildar has courted a row with her social media post in which she purportedly appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to launch a "suicide scheme" in name of former premier Rajiv Gandhi for "pseudo-seculars" and those with Congress ideology who cannot digest the applause Modi received from Muslims in Afghanistan.
As the Facebook post of Raoti tehsildar Amita Singh Tomar went viral, Ratlam district in-charge collector Harjinder Singh issued a show cause notice to her on Wednesday evening for violating the Civil Services Conduct Rules.
"When Prime Minister went to Afghanistan, and then Muslims of that country waved India's flag and raised slogans of Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata ki Jai. Therefore, I request Prime Minister that he should start Rajiv Gandhi Aatmhatya Yojna so that pseudo seculars and those with Congress ideology can commit suicide by hearing this news," Tomar purportedly said in the post yesterday.
However, she removed the post after it went viral. Speaking to reporters today, Tomar clarified she got this matter (post) on her WhatsApp messenger and she just posted it on her Facebook account.
The officer also apologised for posting it stating she had no intention to hurt anybody's feelings.
Meanwhile, Singh, also District Panchayat CEO, said, "I have taken cognisance of the post as published in a section of media and have issued a show cause notice to Tomar for violating Civil Services Conduct Rules".
Recently, a tehsildar in Khachrod town of Ujjain district purportedly took a jibe at the famous tagline "Mera Desh Badal Raha Hai", which encapsulates various initiatives of the Modi government, by posting a comment on a social networking site, but deleted it following a flutter.
Before that two IAS officers from state had invited the wrath of the government for their comments on the social media.
While show cause notice was issued by state government to Narsinghpur district Collector Sibi Chakraborthy for purportedly posting a post congratulating Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa over her electoral victory, Barwani collector Ajay Singh Gangwar had been shunted out after he had praised former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru in a Facebook post.
