After West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, now Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh will not attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“CM Amarinder Singh to not attend PM Narendra Modi's oath ceremony today,” ANI quoted Raveen Thukral, media adviser to Punjab CM, as saying.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday announced that she will not attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in on Thursday, alleging the BJP was using the ceremony "to score political points".
Meanwhile, BJP chief Amit Shah on Thursday reached the official residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi hours ahead of the formation of the new government and swearing-in ceremony.
This is the third round of meeting between the top two leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the last three days.
During the meeting, Modi and Shah are likely to give a final shape to the list of MPs who will take the oath of office and secrecy along with Modi.
Modi and Shah had earlier held deliberations on Tuesday and Wednesday on the formulation of the new government.
