Those interested in volunteering in their free time have an opportunity to work on an app that will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week.
The app named #Self4Society is developed by MyGov and will be launched at a townhall-style event on October 24.
According to media reports, the app was developed following the conversation between Narendra Modi and several leaders. The app will have incentives, gamification and intra- and inter-company competitions, and social networking. At first, this will be aimed at IT companies, with more joining in when it takes off.
Several leaders had a huge number of resources to work but did not have any guidance of volunteering.
This platform is going to create a big opportunity for the masses and will lead to a better outcome of the efforts of professionals who have keen interest in volunteering.
The townhall-style inaugural ceremony will be attended by 2,000 in the city, and thousands more will join from other cities through video link.
