Three Indian Army soldiers were today martyred when terrorists opened fire at an Army convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in the Pampore town of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district.
No casualties have been reported so far, police said, adding that the ultras opened fire on the army convoy at Kadlabal in Pampore town of Pulwama.
Security forces have cordoned off the adjoining residential area and launched search operation to track down the militants, police said.
“There was some retaliatory firing as well, but so far no casualties have been reported," a police official said.
There have been several encounters between security forces and terrorists in the border state last month.
As per reports, 29 armed personnel have been killed post ‘surgical strikes’.
