MHADA to declare lottery results for 972 houses in Mumbai today

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) will today declare the lottery results for 972 houses in Mumbai and its suburban areas. Approximately, 1.35 lakh applicants are trying their luck in the lottery.

The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) will today declare the lottery results for 972 houses in Mumbai and its suburban areas. Approximately, 1.35 lakh applicants are trying their luck in the lottery.

The lottery draw will be held at Rangsharda Auditorium at Bandra Reclamation in Mumbai.

“We will hold the computerised lottery system which will be overseen by a three-member committee,” Vaishali Wagh, PRO, MHADA, said, adding that the proceedings will be webcasted live.

Wagh said that like every year, the houses have been categorised into economically weaker section (EWS), low income group (LIG), middle income group (MIG) and high income group (HIG). The houses that are being offered under this lottery are in the price range of Rs 8.20-84 lakh in Mumbai's suburban locations.

Other areas where houses are put on sale include Borivli, Chandivli, Goregaon, Chembur, Kurla and Mankhurd. These residential units are spread over 180 sq ft to 800 sq ft.

Unsuccessful applicants will start receiving refund of their deposits 10 days from the lottery draw, the PRO informed.

MHADA is an apex public body constituted under MHAD ACT 1976, established in 1977 under Housing Department Government of Maharashtra and integrated the activities and functions performed by statutory bodies to provide comprehensive, co-ordinate approach to the problems of housing. It offers affordable houses to various sections of the society through the lottery system. In Mumbai, it has constructed about 30,000 housing units.
