Man beaten, needles inserted into his body on suspicion of being a thief

A man was badly beaten up by a mob and needles were inserted into his body on the suspicion that he had stolen things from a shop at Joynagar in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

A man was badly beaten up by a mob and needles were inserted into his body on the suspicion that he had stolen things from a shop at Joynagar in South 24 Parganas district, police said today. On getting information bout the man being beaten up, the police rushed to the spot and rescued the man and admitted him to a local hospital. 

The doctors at the hospital described the man's condition as "serious". 

The man told the police that a mob caught hold of him on the suspicion of stealing things from a shop and thrashed him badly. 

He also said that the mob tried to uproot his nails and needles were inserted into his body.
