Police in Mumbai's Palghar district stayed alert for hours on Monday after reports of a terrorist roaming freely in the region started doing the rounds. The reports, however, turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.
Tension in the area was finally eased when the locals came to know that the man, earlier being referred to as a 'terrorist', was actually a crew member shooting for a film in the area.
It all began when the police control room received a call about a terrorist roaming in a car near Vasai, a police official said, adding the call was received on Monday afternoon.

The caller described the suspicious-looking man as the one having a huge beard and carrying a pouch for bullets, he said.
Various police stations in the area were put on alert and CCTV footages were checked soon after the call. Later, the man was spotted with his car near Sun City area in Manickpur and was taken into custody.
During questioning, it was revealed that the man was a member of the crew shooting for a film, who had decided to take a stroll in the filmy get-up.
He was later released after police confirmed his identity.
