Mumbai to London British Airways flight declares emergency, diverted to Azerbaijan's capital Baku

The airways declared 'Squawking emergency code 7700', which means a code declaring an emergency to Air Traffic Control towers in the area.

The British Airways flight BA 198 from Mumbai to London has declared emergency and has been diverted to Azerbaijan's capital Baku, reports said. 

The airways declared 'Squawking emergency code 7700', which means a code declaring an emergency to Air Traffic Control towers in the area. 

The reason for the emergency is not unknown yet, but speculations suggest a "technical issue" onboard. 

The flight took off from Mumbai at 5:30pm on Monday and was scheduled to land in London at 9:38pm local time. 

Update: According to latest reports, the flight has landed in Baku and is being investigated by ground crew for technical faults.
