Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) chief minister candidate BS Yeddyurappa on Friday released the party’s poll manifesto ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections. Union Human Resources and Development Minister Prakash Javadekar and several other leaders were also present at the event in Bengaluru.
Addressing the gathering after the launch, Yeddyurappa said that welfare of farmers has always been the priority of the BJP in Karnataka. He added that the government would allocate Rs 1,50,000 crore for various irrigation projects in Karnataka and ensure water reaches to every field in the state.
The campaigning for the upcoming elections has garnered heat with all major political parties leaving no stone unturned to field in its candidates. BS Yeddyurappa is expected to get a strong fight from Congress and JD(S) chief ministerial candidates Siddaramaiah and HD Kumaraswamy respectively.
Karnataka goes to polls on May 12 and results will be declared on May 15 for the 224-member Assembly.

#BJP will bring back a separate agricultural budget to place focus on the needs of our farmers.
#BJP will set up the “Raitha Bandhu Department”, directly under CMO, to monitor the implementation of all farmer friendly schemes executed by the Agriculture, Minor Irrigation and Water Resources ministries.
#BJP has pledged to ensure that farmers receive 1.5 times the cost of production as Minimum Support Price (MSP) to fulfill PM mODI vision of doubling farmers’ incomes.
#BJP will launch the “Mukhya Mantri Raita Suraksha Vime Yojane” to provide an accidental insurance cover of upto Rs 2 lakh, free of cost, for landless agricultural labourers. This proves holistic vision of the BJP government.
