Four terrorists were gunned down while two security personnel lost their lives during an encounter in Pulwama's Tral on Tuesday. An army jawan and a police jawan died while fighting terrorists in the operation. ammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaid confirmed that security forces have gunned down four terrorists.
A joint operation was started by the Rashtriya Rifles (RR), state police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Lam forest area of Tral following information about the presence of militants there.
Immediately after, the security forces launched an anti-militancy operation in the area. The operation is still underway.
The encounter comes a day after Pakistan Army violated ceasefire along the Line of Control at Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district.
Pakistani troops on Monday targeted forward posts and villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district with mortar shells and gunfire in violation of the ceasefire.
"Pakistan army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 1730 hours today in the Krishnaghati sector along the LoC", the Army official had said.
