Two suspected militants were arrested in Ramban district's Gool in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. A joint operation was launched by Police Component Gool, along with 58 RR and 9 Para at about 3.30 a.m after they had received specific information about suspicious movement of some ANEs in Hara area of the region.
Two suspects, along with arms and ammunition were thereby arrested after a cordon and search operation was launched.
The duo was identified as Shoukat Ahmad Sheikh of Awantipora and Taweel Mohiudin of Kulgam. One AK 47 rifle, one AK 47 magazine, 30 rounds of AK 47 and Indian currency worth Rs 8771 were recovered from their possession.

An FIR in the case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
According to the preliminary investigation, the suspects have been found to be affiliated with the LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba) terrorist group. They were said to be acting upon the instructions of an active militant of the group.
