Jammu and Kashmir: Security forces kill one terrorist, nab another after encounter in Anantnag district
Security forces on Sunday gunned down a terrorist and nabbed another in an early morning operation in Dialgam operation Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag.
Acting on a specific intelligence input about the presence of militants in the Peth Dialgam area of Anantnag, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area, a police official said.
The search operation turned into an encounter after militants fired upon the forces, he added. In retaliatory firing by security forces, one militant was killed, the official said. The dead terrorist has been identified as Hizbul Mujahideen's Rouf Bashir.
Rouf Bashir, the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist killed in the encounter today. Bashir was a local resident.
Meanwhile, exchange of fire has also been reported from Kachdoora village and Dargrad in Shopian district.
