3 encounters underway in Jammu and Kashmir
One jawan was martyred, while one terrorist was gunned down in ongoing encounter between militants and security forces in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Cordon and search operation was launched by the security forces in Qazigund of Anantnag district after they had received information about the presence of militants in the area, the official added.
The search operation turned into a gunfight after the insurgents had opened fire on the security forces.
Another encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday morning, the official confirmed.
Terrorists hiding in a village were locked in a gunfight with security forces.
Officials also confirmed a third encounter in Srinagar’s Noorbagh, in which a civilian has been killed. The encounter broke out between militants and troops of CRPF.
Internet services in Srinagar and adjoining areas have been snapped by the authorities without providing any reason.
