One jawan was martyred, while one terrorist was gunned down in ongoing encounter between militants and security forces in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Cordon and search operation was launched by the security forces in Qazigund of Anantnag district after they had received information about the presence of militants in the area, the official added.
The search operation turned into a gunfight after the insurgents had opened fire on the security forces.
