Two terrorists killed in Shopian encounter
Two terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district early on Saturday. Security forces had received information about the presence of militants in Gahand area of the district after which the gunfight broke out.
A search operation was launched as two to three militants were believed to be trapped.
The area has been cordoned off.
According to a police official, the terrorists fired upon the forces while a search was being conducted in the area. The encounter is currently underway.
Earlier on April 6, two militants were gunned down by the security forces in Shopian. The terrorists had reportedly attacked an army patrol party near Pinjura area of the district.
