New Delhi: In a countrywide survey conducted by a weekly, the journalism school of Jamia Milia Islamia has been rated as the best in India for the second time in last two years.
"Jamia Millia Islamia's Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC) has retained its first position for the second consecutive year in an all-India ranking survey of top professional educational institutions having government accreditation or affiliation, conducted by Outlook magazine," the university said in a statement on today.
Jamia's Faculty of Architecture has also maintained its seventh position while the Faculty of Law has been placed at the sixth spot, improving its ranking from 10th last year.
"Detailed objective questionnaires were sent to 1,700 colleges across India in nine streams including engineering, medical, dental, architecture, law, hotel management, social work, mass communication and fashion technology," the magazine said.
The questionnaires measured the colleges on five key parameters of selection process, academic excellence, infrastructure and facilities, personality development and industry exposure and placement.
MCRC is one of the oldest journalism departments in the country and many veteran journalists are part of its alumni.
