Three terrorists, believed to be members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir this morning. A police personnel was also injured in this operation that took place in Amargarh.
Three AK-47 rifles were recovered from the slain militants. The three militants are believed to be foreigners although it is yet to be officially confirmed.
The security forces started the operation after receiving the information that 3-4 militants were hiding in the area.
The operation started at 2am last night and continued till 6am in the morning.
The bodies of all the threeterrorists were recovered although they are yet to be identified.
Last night’s encounter came just days after security forces killed top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Abu Dujana and his colleagues in an encounter at Hakripora village in Pulwama district on August 1.
