The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested an Indian Air Force officer and a Bengaluru based scientist in connection with an international drug racket.

IAF Wing Commander Rajasekhar Reddy was arrested from Nanded in Maharashtra during the weekend following raids in which drugs like ecstacy and 230 kg of amphetamine were seized.

Over Rs. 7 lakh cash, five mobile phones and documents were found on him. He is believed to be one of the main suppliers in the network.

Reddy was under scanner of Narcotics Control Bureau and Indian Air Force.

The NCB team had recently arrested three persons – Bengaluru-based scientist Venkata Rama Rao, his wife and an associate Ravi Shankar Rao – for their involvement in the racket.

The raids were carried out on Friday. Amphetamines are potent nervous system stimulants.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials have also recovered 231 kg of amphetamine worth about Rs 45 crore in the international market from the trio.
