Udaipur: In an inhuman act that took place in Rajasthan, a woman and her alleged lover were paraded naked and then tied together for two days and a night in Udaipur district of Rajasthan, as mocking crowds clicked their pictures.
According to a report in The Times of India, the victim woman had left her husband to live with her alleged lover.
Her husband, Bhanwarlal Meena, along with his family members led a mob who tortured and humiliated the tribal duo at Kasotia village on Monday.
Another shocking thing about the shameful incident was that it took place only a few metres away from a government office and a school.
The alleged lover, Laluram, was released on Wednesday after his family paid Rs 80,000 to the villagers, whereas the woman was rescued by the police on Friday.
The police has so far booked thirty persons in the case and has arrested thirteen, including Bhanwarlal and three women.
Meanwhile, the district administration has suspended the village ‘patwari’ and has also asked for an explanation from the teachers and health workers who watched the shameful incident silently.
