Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram has said that the victory of the Congress party in the just concluded Assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh proved that the BJP’s bluff has been called.
Speaking at the India TV-Lokmat Conclave, Chidambaram said that it was a tough fight for the Congress. However, he took heart from the fact that Congress pulled level with the BJP in the three states where the BJP was in power.
Chidambaram also said that, in his opinion, the BJP will fight back in next 100 days. However, he exuded confidence that at the national level, the momentum was now with the Congress as far as the 2019 Lok Sabha elections were concerned.
