'Till the moment we are alive, you are safe. We will continue to do our duty with full honour and dedication', these are the words of a ITBP jawan stationed Nelong post along Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China in sub-minus temperature.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh celebrated New Year with ITBP personnel here on Monday. Singh spent an entire day with bravehearts withstanding harsh weather conditions at the the height of 11,700 feet.

Nelong Border Outpost (BoP) is situated along the same border which has been violated by Chinese troops frequently in the recent past. Despite India's strong reply to Doklam stand off, the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) troops continue to attempt encroachment in the region.

As a result, Indian soldiers have to brave the chill and stay alert throughout the day. Even at night, when temperature goes below minus 15 to minus 35 degrees Celsius, these ITBP heroes, barely rest to recuperate for another day.
