A day after India decided to hand over two Pakistani youth whom it had arrested last year in connection with the Uri terror attack, the Indian Army’s Director General of Military Operation (DGMO) Lt Gen AK Bhatia today held a telephonic conversation with his Pakistani counterpart and conveyed New Delhi’s concern over the suspicious movement of militants along the border areas.

The development came after security forces posted along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir spotted movement of militants.

"The DGMO spoke to the Pakistan Army DGMO this morning. He expressed concern regarding the movement of terrorists noticed along the Line of Control (LoC)," Army sources said.

The conversation between both DGMOs came amid an ongoing encounter between security forces and militants holed up inside a house in Awantipora area of Kashmir's Pulwama district. Two LeT militants have been neutralised so far.

The Pakistani DGMO was also informed about the repatriation of two nationals from the other side of the border apprehended in Uri last year following the terror attack that left 19 jawans dead.

The NIA had on Wednesday handed over to the Army two Pakistani youths whom it had arrested in connection with the last year's terror attack on a military base in Uri that had killed 19 soldiers. The agency handed over Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed to the Army's 16 Corps headquarters in Jammu after it failed to find conclusive evidence to establish their role in the attack.
