Eastern India is facing fury of massive floods. In north-eastern state of Assam, at least 39 people have lost their lives due to floods and around 33.45 lakh people in 24 of the 32 districts in the state remained affected. In Bihar, the death toll has mounted to 72 and around 73.44 lakh people in 14 districts are affected by the floods. In the six districts of north Bengal, at least 32 persons have died and over 14 lakh people were affected due to the floods, caused partly due to the overflowing rivers of Bhutan, Bihar and Jharkhand.
