A Jaguar aircraft of the Indian Air Force on Monday crashed in Pokhran area of Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer district, but both the pilots ejected safely.
The aircraft was on routine training sortie when the incident occurred in the area which is near the Indo-Pak border, defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said.
A Court of Inquiry has been ordered, he said.
Jaguar is a deep strike fighter plane capable of carrying nuclear payload.
Last month, another Jaguar aircraft was met with an accident when it caught fire minutes before take off at Ambala air base but the pilot ejected safely.
