Gurgaon: A video showing two alleged beef traffickers being forced to eat cowdung by the volunteers of the Gau Rakshak Dal is doing rounds on social media.
The alleged video was shot by the so-called Gau Rakshak Dal, a vigilante group of cow savers, near Faridabad - Delhi border area on June 10.
The alleged cow traffickers, identified as Rizwan and Muktihar, are presently in jail. The duo were taken to Bilaspur police station in Gurgaon but later handed over to Faridabad police because of the jurisdiction of crime. An FIR was lodged against the duo under Prohibition of Cow Slaughter Act, according to Indian Express.
"It has been confirmed by the laboratory that they were carrying 300 kg beef. The beef has been destroyed after taking required permission,” police said.
Meanwhile, the volunteers are seen encouraging the duo to eat the “panchgavya” (cow dung concoction), urging them to “hurry up” and “finish the gobar quickly”. They are also forced to chant ‘Gau Mata ki Jai’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ as they swallow the mixture.
We acted on a tip-off, intercepted a vehicle transporting “700 kg of beef from Mewat to Delhi” on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway, Dharmendra Yadav, president of the Gurgaon Gau Rakshak Dal, told Indian Express".
We had to chase the car for 7 km before we finally managed to stop them near the Badarpur border,” Yadav said.
Towards the end of the barely minute-long video, the men begin to throw up on the road. The video comes to an abrupt end when a man is heard saying “turn off the video”.
