Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday wished the 2-year-old daughter of former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes by saying "Happy Birthday to India, From India".
Interestingly, Jonty Rhodes named her daughter “India” after she was born in 2015 at a hospital in Mumbai.
Jonty Rhodes posted a picture of himself with his daughter, who turned two on Sunday.
"Happy Birthday baby India; 2 today #landofyourbirth," Rhodes tweeted.
PM Modi responded to Jonty Rhodes's tweet and wished India Jeanne on her second birthday.
The Prime Minister tagged Rhodes and tweeted,"Happy birthday to India, from India"
According to Jonty Rhodes, the reason behind naming her Daughter “India” was his love and respect for this country’s rich culture, heritage and tradition.
"I really like that combination. You have to have a good balance of life. With the name like India, she will have the best of both worlds and that sort of balance," Jonty Rhodes had said.
Jonty Rhodes is presently the fielding coach for IPL team Mumbai Indians.
