Manohar Parrikar passes away at the age of 63
Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar passed away at the age of 63 on Sunday. He was suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer since February last year. He breathed his last at his private residence near Panaji.

10:16 pm: The mortal remains will be kept at the Bharatiya Janata Party state headquarters in Panaji, as well as at a state government-operated arts and culture centre all through the morning and afternoon, for public to pay their final respects, before being taken to the Sports Authority of Goa ground for cremation at 5 p.m., according to the statement from the Chief Minister's Office.

Earlier in the evening, the Chief Minister's Office had said that "Chief Minister @manoharparrikar's health condition is extremely critical. Doctors are trying their best".
Among the first to arrive at the chief minister's private residence was state Director General of Police Pranab Nanda. Police presence around the house was also increased.
The former Defence Minister's health, which has been fluctuating for a year, took a turn for the worse in the past two days. Several party leaders and allies in the state government had rushed to meet him on Saturday.
