Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind today congratulated France for winning the FIFA World Cup 2018.

PM Modi wished the French football team and the French president for 'an excellent match!'
"Congratulations to France for winning the @FIFAWorldCup. They played wonderfully through the tournament and during the #WorldCupFinal @EmmanuelMacron," the PM tweeted.
He also congratulated Croatia for their spirited game. Their performance in the World Cup has been historic, he said in the tweet.
France clinched their second World Cup title with a 4-2 win over Croatia in a dramatic final in Moscow today. For France, it was a first World Cup crown since winning on home soil in 1998. Croatia were playing in their first World Cup final.
