Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah was heckled during Eid prayers in Srinagar on Wednesday. The National Conference president, who had gone to offer Eid prayers at Hazratbal shrine, had to face an angry mob who raised slogans against him for chanting Bharat Mata ki Jai and Jai Hind while giving tribute to late PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee during a condolence meeting in New Delhi earlier this week.
Abdullah was heckled even before the imam, leading the congregational prayers, could begin the Eid sermon.
Shoes were hurled as the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister was disrupted by dozens of youth at the Hazratbal shrine.
Abdullah left the prayer ground following the incident amid sloganeering.
