A plane belonging to the Ethiopian Airlines clipped wings with a parked Air India aircraft at the Indira Gandhi International airport here on Tuesday night. The incident took place when the Ethiopian Airlines was being pushed back for take-off and Air India's Airbus A320 was parked, PTI reported.
Ethiopian flight ET 687 was bound to Addis Ababa and scheduled to depart at 2.20am Wednesday, the Hindustan Times reported. The Flight ET- 687 was cancelled and 196 passengers were de-boarded after the accident.
The wings of the two planes collided with each other, said an Air India official on the condition of anonymity. The Air India plane has been grounded temporarily.
The Air India official said the national carrier will be claiming damages from Ethiopian Airlines.
A statement from Ethiopian Airlines is awaited.
