Encounter breaks out in Shopian
Security forces have recovered bodies of two terrorists while at least three more are reportedly holed up inside a house as encounter to neutralise them continues in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. Two jawans have also been injured in the operation. The injured jawans have been shifted to an army hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
A team of Shopian police and Rashtriya Rifles reached Kundalan in Shopian after the security forces received information of about 5 to 6 militants hiding inside a house in the area. A search operation was launched to nab the hiding terrorists.
The area has been cordoned off by the CRPF team as exchange of fire continues.
