5.0 magnitude earthquake jolts Andaman Island
An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter Scale hit the Andaman Island on Monday. According to reports released by Indian Meteorological Department, the earthquake hit a depth of almost 10 km and tremors were felt at 7:24 am.
No casualities, injuries and damage have been reported till now.
The Andaman and the Nicobar archipelago is prone to earthquake.
The last was reported in Nicobar island on April 6. It was recorded 4.6 on the Richter Scale.
