Delhi woke up to a humid morning on Monday as the minimum temperature settled at 20.2 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year. The humidity was recorded at 74 per cent. Thunderstorm and very light rain are on the forecast for the day, which will be accompanied with gusty winds at the speed of 30-40 km/hr.
The maximum temperature on Monday is likely to hover around 37 degrees Celsius. The mercury, however, is expected to rise from Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the national capital on Sunday witnessed respite from the prevailing heat conditions as rain lashed parts of the NCR during the evening. Dust storm and thunderstorm gave way to some pleasant weather in Delhi-NCR as the mercury dipped by nearly 7 degrees after it had touched 36 degrees during the day.
In addition, rain and dust storm also led to the diversion of five flights to Lucknow, that were initially scheduled to land at Delhi's IGI Airport between 8 PM to 10 PM.
Two Vistara flights, two Air India flights and one flight of the Gulf Air were diverted to Lucknow airport, the IGI airport officials said.
