Indore: A divorce petition in the Khargone courtroom took a rather filmy twist on Monday when the husband gifted a beautiful saree to his wife and was all praise for her beauty. It may seem odd, considering it was a divorce petition that was underway, but the husband didn’t have much of a choice as the diktat had come from none other than the judge himself.

This unlikely display of affection in the midst of a divorce petition came after chief judicial magistrate Gangacharan Dubey suggested that the husband rehearse some mushy lines to impress her, so that they both can give their relation another chance. This, he felt, would deepen their bond and ultimately help change their mind about the divorce.

"You are very beautiful and when you wear this, you will look stunning," Sanju told his wife Ranu, reciting his ‘well-rehearsed’ lines.

The diktat by the judge may seem strange but it didn’t lack basis. According to a TOI report, the judge ordered the husband to do so after Ranu said she used to feel ignored and lonely in the relationship.

However, the wife was not too pleased with the saree and the judge, determined to make their relationship work, then ordered Sanju to go shopping with Ranu.

While delivering the order, judge Dubey observed that women worked hard all day and all they want is care and appreciation from thier soulmate and family members.
