Delhi's iconic Hall of Nations and Hall of Industries at Pragati Maidan demolished for building modern complex today.
Notably, a landmark of Delhi, Hall of nation was built to celebrate 25 years of Independence showcasing modernity and original talent. It was recognised across the globe as piece of art.
The popular Hall of Nation was build by known architect Raj Rewal. Interestingly, the architech had also filed a petition to preserve the building. But his petition was dismissed by the Delhi High Court.
The building was also considered as a heritage structure and ironically it did not get the required ptotection.
According to the reports of The Hindu, ‘’Rewal has said that he had taken part in a competition to come out with a redevelopment plan for the exhibition complex but the ITPO was rejected it as it included the Hall of Nations as a part of it.
