Days after its license was revoked after it wrongly declared a newborn boy dead, Delhi’s Max Hospital at Shalimar Bagh resumed operations today after a stay order issued by the “appellate authority” in the matter.
In a statement put out by the hospital a short while ago, the hospital resumed operations after a stay on the cancellation of its license and said it was committed to providing quality healthcare to patients.
On December 8, the Directorate General of Health Services under the Delhi government had cancelled the license of Max hospital, Shalimar Bagh in the case of medical negligence.
The hospital said the operation was resumed after the Court of Finance Commissioner on Tuesday put on hold the government's December 8 order.
"We are fully focussed on providing quality care to all our patients and honouring our commitment of ensuring free treatment to the economically weaker sections of the society," a hospital statement said.

The cancellation of Max Hospital’s license by the Delhi government was met with stiff criticism by the Delhi Medical Association as well as private hospitals in the national capital.
Defending the decision, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that Max hospital had left the government with no option other than to take action.
“This has not happened for the first time. Such kind of erroneous act was done by the hospital on many occasions in the past too."
