A man, infuriated with persistent quarrels with his wife, allegedly strangulated to death his seven-year-old son, police said on Saturday.
The boy's body was recovered from his home in Dwarka's Baba Haridass Nagar area on Friday.
The victim's mother claimed that she had gone to the neighbour's house and upon returning, she found her son lying motionless with a piece of rope around his neck, police said, adding that the victim was wrapped in a blanket.
The accused was under a debt of Rs two lakh and believed that his wife and son were the reason behind his financial troubles, they said.
According to police, the accused had two children from his first marriage.
Police said they have registered a case and are on the lookout for the accused.
