A three-year-old child is seeking help from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his treatment.

Ahsan is suffering from Gaucher disease. For Maqsood Alam, saving his kid has become a personal challenge. He already lost three of his children to Gaucher disease in the past.

16 months ago, at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the child was diagnosed suffering from the disease. Since then, he was getting treatment.

However, recently, the family was asked to take him away due to expensive dosage his treatment requires. As per reports, the expense of Ahsan's treatment is 38 lakh a year and government does not fund this much amount.

Father of the kid works as an Arabic interpreter. He earns around Rs 8,000 a month.

The family is now seeking help from Delhi and Narendra Modi-led central government. The kid is now admitted at the Delhi government's Lok Nayak Hospital. He is waiting for a miracle to happen.

About Gaucher disease:

It is a genetic disorder in which a lipid composed of ceramide and glucose accumulates in the tissues of patients. The disorder is characterized by enlargement of the liver and spleen.

The lipid can collect in the kidneys, lungs, brain, and bone marrow as well.
