Superstar Rajinikanth today in a tweet extended his "full support" to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Swachhata Hi Seva' mission.
Backing the initiative under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the 66-year-old actor added that 'cleanliness was godliness'.
"I extend my full support to our hon Prime Minister @narendramodi ji's #SwachhataHiSeva mission. Cleanliness is godliness," Rajinikanth tweeted.
The Tamil actor's tweet comes a day after film star Kamal Haasan met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in Chennai, amid indications that he, too, might join politics. The "Kabali" actor has also been hinting for some time that he might take the political plunge.
Earlier this week, Modi had written personalised letters to celebrities, industrialists and noted personalities to enlist their support for the initiative. Quoting Mahatma Gandhi, Modi said Swachhata is for each of us to practice.
He also said the days leading up to Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 be about "encouraging widespread participation in cleanliness initiatives across the country."
