Four BSF personnel have lost their lives and three others have been injured in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan Rangers along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district, the police officials said.
The Pakistan Rangers resorted to small arm firing on BSF positions in Ramgarh sector area at around 10.45 pm on Tuesday. The targetted attack claimed the lives of at least trhee BSF officers and one constable.
Martyred soliders include Assistant Commander Jatinder Singh, ASI Ram Niwas, ASI Rajneesh Kumar and Constable Hansraj. The injured soldiers are being treated at nearest military hospital.
According to official sources, the Pakistani troops targeted BSF forces stationed at a mound near the Naranyanpur post. The Additional Commander Singh heard gunshots and went to check in and evacuate the injured soldiers. Pak Rangers took the opportunity to target him. He was killed with a direct bullet injury.
