On the first death anniversary of slain Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani, terrorists in Kashmir attacked an Indian Army vehicle in Bandipura today injuring three jawans.
The terrorists opened fire on the vehicles of a road opening party after which the entire area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched.
Meanwhile, Pakistan once again violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir today.
The Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing from 6am in the morning using mortar bombs, small and automatic weapons.
The Indian troops are also returning the fire strongly and effectively.
Strict security arrangements have been made in Kashmir valley to ward off protests called by separatists to mark the anniversary of Burhan Wani’s killing by Indian security forces on April 8 last year.
As a precautionary measure, the state administration has either placed all separatist leaders under house arrest or taken them into preventive custody.
Kashmir University has cancelled all exams scheduled for today saying the new dates would be announced later.
The Railway authorities have cancelled train services between Baramulla town and Bannihal town in the Jammu region for today.
