Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Haji Ahsan and his nephew Shadab were shot dead on Tuesday by unidentified miscreants in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor. The incident happened in Najibabad town.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.
Ever since the Lok Sabha election has concluded, killings of party workers are being reported from one state or the other.
On Monday, former Samajwadi Party MP Kamlesh Balmiki was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Khurja in Bulandshahr. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker was also shot dead in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district while two individuals were detained.
After the conclusion of polls, a close aide of newly-elected Amethi MP Smriti Irani was shot dead by two unidentified men. Surendra Singh (50), a former head of Baraulia village, around 25 km from the Amethi district headquarters, was shot at around 11.30 pm on May 26. Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing so far.
