Former Union Minister and noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani on Friday stressed the need to fight corruption and ensure that black money stashed abroad by many Indians was brought back.
Jethmalani was addressing students and faculty of Amity Law School at Amity University's Gurugram campus after inaugurating a three-day National Moot Court Competition.
Jethmalani said: "... a lawyer should fear none. Coming to the moot court reminds me of my younger days. I practiced law for more than seven decades and my retirement may have brought relief to many people."
The moot court has chosen the theme of "Marital Rape, Child Marriage and Domestic Violence."
The event will seek to integrate the academic potential, legal insight and art of advocacy among law students comprising 40 teams of three students each from various prestigious law schools/universities. Their mooting and drafting abilities and argumentative skills would be put to the test.
