Two men were killed on late Tuesday night by Maoists in Jamui district of Bihar, according to the police.
A woman was also injured in the incident that took place on Tuesday.
According to Chandeshwar Paswan, the Officer in-charge of Chakai police station, a group of armed insurgents attacked the village and killed 40-year-old Mohammad Ushman Ansari and 38-year-old Mohammad Ghulam Ansari.
"First both were forcibly dragged from their house, beaten and then shot dead," Paswan added.
Villagers informed the police that Maoists targeted them as they suspected them to be police informers.
Security forces have been deployed in the village as the police continue a combing operation in the area.
